Having the right display case for your retail area can make or break your final sale. Customers are naturally drawn to professional looking glass display cases and its common knowledge that the best items are kept inside a glass case to be shown off as a center piece. There are tons of different displays that can help show off your merchandise and choosing the right one can create a professional atmosphere that will make sales without much effort.

The standard front counter display case works well for a traditional approach. This unit works well at a point of sale since it can double as a counter. The case is all clear glass on the front and sides and the back is solid white boards. The boards run along a track and can be opened easily from the back. The acrylic is much better than glass because it won’t shatter if it is dropped and is much more durable. Typically this case will cost around 150 dollars new and 130 used in good condition.

This next display is perfect for displaying large items. If you own a favorite piece of sporting memorabilia such as a signed basketball or football this display will proudly show off your collectible without exposing it to the touch. This display is made out of crystal clear acrylic and is fully transparent all the way around. Inside is a stand that will hold the item in place so your collectible doesn’t move around inside. This particular case will sell for 50 dollars new.

Glass display cases are important for any business to run. Display cases add a certain sense of professionalism while giving you the ability to show off high priced merchandise to customers. A clear glass display with shelves is a perfect way for customers to browse without touching. Having glass displays will increase revenue and the customers opinion of your store. The only downside to glass display cases is the price, many new cases can run over 1,000 dollars. Shopping for used glass display cases can save a ton of money for any business and can fill your store with displays for half the price!

Before we go over some of the most popular display cases I want to make a note that a lot of cases can be found on Craigslist. Check out the business section on Craigslist in your area, I have found all of my used glass display cases on Craigslist for much less, in some cases free! Keep in mind I will be going over different types of glass display cases and what they’re best used for and I will give you what the going rate is for that display.

 

Glass Cabinet: 5′ Display Counter

This cabinet provides a ton of room to display items on the top 2 shelves. You can also use the bottom of the case as a third shelf for your product. I own a retail store that deals with video games and use this to display gaming systems and high dollar accessories. This cabinet should run around 200 dollars used.

 

 

4′ Wall Unit Display Case

The 4 foot wall display case works well for displaying products such as shoes, purses and sports memorabilia. I have also seen many stores use this to display high priced electronics and high priced china (plates, glasses etc.) I would recommend this one for any business that sells items they have multiples of so you don’t have to continuously open the glass. This case should go for around 450 dollars used.

 

Slatwall Gondola Unit

A slat wall gondola is a great way to display product on the showroom floor. What’s great about using this gondola is there is a huge amount of customization you can do. You can use this strictly for advertising or display tons of product on all four sides. It’s also very easy to position this where you want it in your store. This is worth about 150 dollars used.

 

 

Wooden Apparel Display

If you can take advantage of selling shirts or apparel in your store, this display is a must. It can display many shirts on either side hanging from the arms and from the two metal bars next to each set of shelves. You can display folded shirts for sale on the 3 shelves on either side. This is one of the best looking displays when full of product. This display is worth 600 dollars used and is one of my favorite.

 

Used glass display cases can really bring a sense of professionalism to any store. Customers will view your store as a much cleaner and more organized store if you have neat and clean, and well optimized, glass displays for your product. Even though the displays are used in most cases its impossible to tell if it is cleaned up and only you will know that you got a great looking display case for cheap.
